Born on 23-7-1936 at Berhampur (Ganjam). Graduated from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack in 1955. Obtained LL.B., degree from M.S. Law College, Cuttack under Utkal University in 1957. Practised as a Pleader at Cuttack from March, 1958 to October, 1961. While in Judicial Service obtained LL.M., degree under Utkal University. Joined the Judicial Service in 1961. Held various posts in the Subordinate Judiciary and Functioned as District Judge in the districts of Cuttack, Puri and Balasore. Held the post of Director of Public Prosecutions, Orissa. He was holding the office of the Registrar (Administration) in the High Court. He served as the Judge of Orissa High Court from 30.6.1994 - 25.7.1994 and Judge of Kerala High Court on 26.7.1994.
