Former Judge

Born on 19-11-1930. Enrolled as an Advocate in August, 1952 at Cuttack. Appointed Additional District and Sessions Judge on 31-7-1968. Worked as Superintendent and Legal Remembrancer and ex-Officio Additional Secretary to Govt. of Orissa, Law Department from 18-5-70 to 21-4-1972. Worked as District and Sessions Judge from 1-5-1972 to 25-7-1975. Worked as Secretary to the Government of Orissa, Law Department from 23-6-1977 to 31-8-1979 and again as District and Sessions Judge from 10-9-1979 to 14-5-1980. Also worked as Administrator, Berhampur University since 14-5-1980. Called to the English bar and practised there from 1960 to 1964. Appointed as a Research Officer in the Commonwealth Law at London. Was Principal cum-Professor of Law, M.S. Law College, Cuttack from 1966.

Appointed Permanent Judge of the Orissa High Court on 5-1-1981. He served as the Judge of Orissa High Court from 5-1-1981 - 9-7-1986 and Elevated as the Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court on 20-1-1990.
