Born on 26th April, 1933 at Akola. He had school education in New English High School, Akola. Graduated from D.A.V. College, Kanpur and passed LL.B. from Law College, Nagpur.
In 1966-67 elected as President of Rotary Club of Akola and was appointed as Governor’s Group Representative for Akola, Amravati, Khamgaon, Bhusawal and Jalgaon in 1968-69.
Elected member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra in 1968 first time and in 1973 second time. Was unanimously elected as Vice-Chairman of the said Council in the year 1974. Was founder President of Radhadevi Goenka Women’s College, Akola. Had been connected with various social organizations. Has been written Articles on various subjects which have appeared in National and International Journals. Elevated as Judge of Bombay High Court on 27.4.1979 and the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court from 28.9.1994 - 25.4.1995.
