Born as the eldest son of his parents on 4th April, 1907, in the city of Patna. He had his preliminary education from Patna High School. In the year 1928, he enrolled himself for reading Law and the Post Graduation Court in Mathematics. After completing law in 1930, he joined the profession in 1931 in District Civil Court, Patna. In 1942 he was a prominent member of the Bar Association of Patna High Court. Elevated to the Bench of Patna High Court on 23.4.1951 and served as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court from 18.1.1965 - 5.4.1967.
