Born on 17.2.1935 in Jambusar town in the district of Bharucha, Gujarat
State. Passed S.S.L.C. Examination in 1950. Graduate from the St.
Xaviers College, Bombay in Economics and Political Science in 1954.
Studied Law in Government Law College, Bombay and obtained LL.B. degree
from the Bombay University in 1956. Passed the Bar Council Examination
in 1957. Did M.A. in Economics and Political Science in the University
School of Economics and Political Science, Bombay and obtained M.A.
degree in 1957. Obtained LL.M. degree from the Government Law College,
Bombay in 1959. He was enrolled as an Advocate of Bombay High Court on
11th February, 1958. Shifted practice to Ahmedabad on bifurcation of the
State of Bombay into State of Maharashtra and State of Gujarat. He was a
part-time Lecturer in Law for two years. Appointed as an Assistant
Government Pleader in 1964. He served as Puisne Judge of Orissa High
Court from 14.12.1993 - 30.1.1994, Chief Justice of Orissa High Court
from 31.1.1994 - 27.9.1994. Elevated as Judge of Supreme Court of India
on 6.3.1995.
