Summary:
This PIL seeks the removal of unauthorized & illegal slaughter houses, and the prevention of cow slaughter as per the restrictions stipulated in the Orissa Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, 1960 and to regulate the transportation of cows in Cuttack more particularly in the areas of Oriya Bazaar, Janta Gali, Hathipokhari and Dewan Bazaar under the Cuttack Municipal Corporation. It prays for the formation of a Special Task Force to handle complaints on illegal and unauthorised transport and slaughter of cows.
