PIL Case Details

This PIL challenges the action of the opposite parties (the State of Odisha, the Cuttack Municipal Commissioner , the Collector etc.) in allowing the discharg e of polluted and contaminated waste/drain water into river Kathajodi through the Branch of main storm water channel , resulting in the major pollution of the river in Khannagar , within Cuttack Municipal Corporation a rea. The petitioner prays for a direction to stop the discharge of said wastewater, and for the treatment of said water at Mattagapur before discharge into the river, as well as to take appropriate action against errant officials. It is also prayed that th e river Kathajodi is cleaned and sanitised at Khannanagar.
